AUBURN, WASHINGTON February 7, 2023 – The United States Air Force has awarded PPI Technical Services (PPITS) a strategically important contract to upgrade and enhance a host of testing, measuring and diagnostic equipment for The Nation of Indonesia-Air Unit (TNI-AU) Depot 10, Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL), Bandung Air Force Base (AFB), Indonesia.
This contract follows a significant long-term contract to PPITS in January 2023 for tire and wheel maintenance support to the Philippine Air Force’s fleet of Lockheed C-130 Hercules large transport aircraft.
This latest contract underscores the importance of the relationship between the U.S. and Indonesia.
The scope of this contract includes assisting TNI-AU personnel with the management of personnel, equipment, tools, materials as well as other items and services necessary to operate the PMEL in accordance with (IAW) US Air Force Technical Order 00-20-14, AFMETCAL Program (Air Force Metrology and Calibration).

The areas of responsibility for PPITS are quite comprehensive in the area of precision technical maintenance, technical training, repair and calibration procedures that includes but not limited to:
- Electronics
- Electromechanical systems
- Radiofrequency and telecommunications
- Physics
- Optics
- Thermodynamic principals
- Physical and dimensional equipment
- Mathematics and number systems
- Operating principals of complex and intricate TMDE and laboratory standards
- Interpreting block, schematic, wiring and logic diagrams and technical data
- Troubleshooting techniques
- Calibration traceability, metrology techniques, laboratory practices and planning
- Microprocessors, computer operational principals, language and software
- Repair of complex and intricate TMDE laboratory standards and specialized tools
- Training, management supply and facility requirements
- Support, staffing, equipment scheduling production and material controls
- AFMETCAL program and functions and procedures
